7th Doctor’s Sweater Vest
While in Blackpool, I got a look at an original Seventh Doctor Vest that was on display.
As it’s a project I’ve been interested in, I went ahead and color matched it and have started working on a pattern for it.
If you can’t wait for the pattern, the colors to look for are:
Pantone 3255C for green
Pantone 032C for red
Pantone 7401 for yellow
Free paint chips from Home Depot that match these colors are:
Behr 480B-4 Shoreline Green
Behr 310C-3 Warm Cocoon
Behr S-G-180 Grenadine
Now, I am not much of a sweater/vest knitter.
Here’s how I knitted mine.
I took the ‘Crofter’s Slipover’ pattern from Cheryl Oberle’s ‘Folk Vests’, cast on 290 stitches
and followed this fair isle pattern:
It should work for any sweater vest pattern designed for Shetland-weight wool that’s got a
main body number divisible by ten (the pattern’s 10X30 stitches).
Scarf based on the Seventh Doctor’s Sweater
Sylvester McCoy was kind enough to allow me to wrap him up in my scarves.
I asked him if he’d like a custom scarf designed just for him.
He allowed as how that might be interesting.
